Great book
Love this series! Came in prefect condition
When the first volume of Battle Angel Alita Deluxe Edition came out I wrote a review praising it on nearly every level. My feelings have held true through the rest of the releases. These large, high-quality printings do the series immense justice and it has been a real treat to get to finally re-read this story in such a beautiful format.When I first looked at Volume 1, the two questions I immediately had were:1) Will this new edition have the original ending or the ret-conned one that allows for the continuation of Last Order?2) Will the excellent prequel/spin-off Ashen Victor be included as well?As for number 1), I can now confirm the original ending is completely intact. This was a nice surprise since I felt pretty confident Yukito Kishiro was done with the original ending. It wasn't how he wanted to end the story and once he returned with Last Order, it was no longer necessary. Previous reprints of the series did not include it. I wouldn't have even been upset if they HAD left it out but I am glad they didn't because I always kind of liked it and it's nice to have the option of reading it or not.Regarding 2), I am so pleased to say that Ashen Victor is most certainly included after the end of the main series, here in Volume 5. I had initially thought for sure that it would be part of the collection of "other stories" that is now being published as Volume 6, and when I read that it wasn't, I couldn't begin to fathom why they would leave this one out. Finding it present in this book made me incredibly happy.So I am pleased to say that Volume 5 of Battle Angel Alita Deluxe satisfyingly lives up to all of my expectations and hopes, as does every other volume of these reprints. I can't wait for the final Volume 6.
Really enjoyed this last book of the set.
Great series of books, very nice new hardback format.
